Travel Scavenger UX/UI Development
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Travel Scavenger is a new travel booking site that enables explorers from all over the world to discover the unique tours and adventures that Australia has to offer. The site was originally constructed by another developer who did not complete the job. Orpheus took over the project and got it across the finish line.
The project included creation of a custom WordPress membership plugin, extensive modifications and improvements to the booking functionality, creation of basic customer review functionality, a complete rebuild of the homepage based on a new design concept, mobile optimization, and various other action items necessary to get the site ready to launch.
WORDPRESS MEMBERSHIP PLUGIN
Orpheus’ development team specializes in pushing the boundaries of what WordPress can do. For Travel Scavenger, the team created a cutting edge membership plugin that fully integrates with the site’s modal booking form. As a result, a user can register to Become A Scavenger, or Sign In as an existing user directly from the booking form at any point during the checkout process.
TABBED BOOKING FORM WITH INTEGRATED SIGN IN AND
NEW USER REGISTRATION
Our development team completely reworked the booking form to vastly improve the fluidity of the checkout process. We put the form into a tabbed interface with intelligent field validation to prevent users from moving to the next tab without entering the required data. Once the membership plugin was built, we fully integrated it into the booking form so users can sign up or register to Become A Scavenger at any point during the checkout process without having to go back and start their booking over.
BOOKING HISTORY AND SIMPLE MEMBER REVIEW FUNCTIONS
Along with the membership plugin, we also gave the site the ability to track the booking history of both members and non-members in the sites database. We then built a very simple review function that allows for reviews to be left for tours if and only if a registered member, who has previously booked that particular tour, is logged in.
