NichiBei Connect

The Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission (JUSFC) created NichiBei Connect, a new platform commissioned in coordination with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in an effort to assist Americans and Japanese who have lived, worked or studied in one another’s country build pathways for professional development and remain engaged with Japan and the United States. Thanks to the satisfactory experience JUSFC previously had with Orpheus, they returned and entrusted Orpheus in creating a website from scratch for NichiBei Connect.

Our design team worked with JUSFC to come up with several design concepts and mockups before the site design was finalized. In addition, we were tasked to design their logo and build a custom plugin to the site’s functionality including: member roles for opportunity seekers and contributors, an ability for contributors to submit opportunities, admin capability to curate and edit those submissions, and a powerful filterable search tool on the homepage which allows users to find opportunities that match their specific criteria.

The result speaks for itself. NichiBei Connect’s website accurately portrays their mission and successfully performs what it’s set out to do.
